When I get stuck into something, one of the initial actions I make is to setup a display case for it as well as a work station.
Due to my flat being so small my work stations are always temporary.
One of my philosophies is to create the ideal space for work, play and creativity from the big stuff like the correct chair to the small stuff like computer shortcuts.
My driving rig is one of my main fixtures in my home. This photo is slightly dated as the tv stand has since been upgraded & I have also added a handbrake to the rig too.
This is the added handbrake.
My other main games area is tucked away in the bedroom. I sit on the floor as a form of passive mobility training & it also give it that retro vibe.
I later added this backrest but this no longer met my needs.
This was the very first version of my mini games station or "retro games area".
In this area I had a CRT tv hooked up for a bit. It began to hurt my eyes which is a shame because those older games work so well on it. I'm still looking for a CRT which meets my needs.
This infamous online image is what actually inspired my mini games area.
Other setups I've had throughout the years include a makeshift arcade cabinet for my shmups.
The make shift arcade cabinet was inspired by this which I found online almost 20 years ago now.
For the longest time my driving rig looked like this.
When I moved from the G29 to the DD Pro I tried to use my existing wheel stand pro with modifications but it was just not happening so I had to grab the new rig to hold it.
Construction of the Trophy Playseat. I use it around 3+ times per week I absolutely love it.
I would see people in the shmup community with these either make shift arcade stations or full astro city cabs & I wanted in on the action.
What I ended on settling on was this compromise of a small chair which I could easily push ouf of the way to sit on the floor and have a small monitor to game on.
When I buy Jojo's Bouncin' Boneheads I; inspect, wash & categorise them. This is what those temporary work stations look like.
Spin stations
Most of my family has this trait of setting up work stations at home. For over 40 years my grans basement was a pottery studio. 2 of my sisters have essentially turned their entire houses into art studios. As per usual I do the miniture version. This photo is me making Jojo's Bouncin' Boneheads sculptures out of clay.
The various gym setups I've had over the years. There are several I had from 2005-2012 which I sadly never photographed.
Instead of a living room we had a gym.
My very first piece of gym equipment was this tiny set of dumbbells. I must have been around 9 years old. These were gifted to me by my Auntie.
I trained in a home gym from 2005-2017. During that time I ofen had a gym membership somewhere else too much most of my physique was created here.
These were my workout stations over the covid lockdown.
